Finished project, etc

I just posted  DH Christmas hat on Ravelry. Made the EZ Maltese Fisherman's hat in Malabrigo chunky and I am seriously in love with that yarn. I have one skein left and got a great suggestion to try the Delores cowl pattern on Ravelry. Seems like a great project to start as I also started a pair of gloves from the lovely Selbuvotter book today and my hand could use some rest from size 2 double points. Pics to come. Have a good rest of the holiday weekend everybody.

Anyone going back this summer?

Sadly I am not going to camp this summer, but it is for happy reasons. My son will be coming home from 2 years in Panama and we'd like to focus on him for the month of July before he heads back to school. I've started a project to try and knit the cover item from Woolgathering, and that has been gratifying. I'm working on a Butterfly Vest in a gorgeous Noro Angora blend in greens. The short rows really highlight the Noro color changes. I finished the vest from last September's edition for my other son and it was pretty successful. You can see the pictures here.

Anyway, I hope that if any of you are going back to Camp, that you'll have a fabulous time and put lots of reports and photos up here!

That Shawl Picture?

Hey everyone!

We haven't been very good about posting, have we?

I've been knitting a lot, but don't have very much to show for it, I'm afraid (I've been charging the batteries for the camera, I'll take and edit pictures soon,) and I'll post them on my own blog tychoish.com, and probably Zimmermaniacs as well.

In any case I'm writing you all because I'm finally putting together a pattern for the blue shawl that I blocked at camp and is pictured right above on this blog. Anyway, I want to use this picture that I have in the pattern that someone sent me, except I don't have the name of the photographer and I seem to have misplaced the email.

I don't need anything formal, I just want to be able to give credit where it's due, if that's alright. So if you sent me a copy of the picture, I'd love to hear from you. If anyone from camp wants a copy of the pattern, or wants to give it a read through, that would be super cool as well. my email is garen@tychoish.com.

Thanks! Hope to hear from you soon!

Anyone here?

[Crickets chirp while a gust of wind blows through the dusty blog] "Anyone here?"

No new posts since July? WOW!(Okay, so I'm guilty for not posting or visiting the blog for awhile, too.) Do any of you still visit?

I will soon be finished with the fair isle snowflake mittens started at camp. I finished the first one and am currently working on the second one. If I can find a camera to use, I will post a picture of the single mitten. If not, you'll have to wait until kitten finishes her mittens.

I will be returning to Camp I with my friend, Maralee. She is a lovely, experienced knitter is very european in her knitting style, but I don't think she knows of EZ or EPS. So I'm coming back and bringing her with me. I know she will love it!

I'm happy to report that my knitting knowledge and bravery has grown since Camp I: I recently designed my very own fingerless mitt pattern and actually sold a pair! And wonder of wonders, I'm starting to receive orders for them. I'm estatic :) It's an enjoyable way to sustain myself through the financial hardships of college.

Until I find a camera,
Ciao!

Other Camper Knitting Blogs...and Amy

The camp after ours had a shower for Amy and her family. Thought I would post a picture and a link to Linda's blog. (She took this lovely family photo). Go to her site and see all the great photos from her camp.

Linda also posted camper's blogs. Some of them are ours but some are from the different camps too. So wonderful to see!!

Help! Share the knowledge!

I can't believe that I have already forgotten something Meg showed us at knitting camp!!! I want to knit my mother's name into the hem of the sweater I am making for her. But, I forgot how to do intarsia in the round. Or, did Meg knit the hems back and forth when knitting in names, etc? I've made my little chart for my mom's name and the year, but I can't figure out how to implement it. In good knitting camper fashion, I did a provisional cast on and I figure I will deal with the hem after I hear from you campers who had better notes, or better memories!! Thanks to everyone in advance.
I'm in the northern part of Idaho, enjoying mountain scenery and the gorgeous lakes in the Coeur d'Alene area. My husband thinks I should hike and explore. I think I should sit on the beach and knit. Hmmmmm...... How did EZ and Arnold solve this problem??

Bohus

Hi everyone! I hope you all are still inspired from camp. I have to admit that I am looking at my knitting very differently now...and everyone else's for that matter. I am finding it a little frustrating letting go. This past weekend I gave my brother-in-law his sweater I made/designed for him this past Spring. He is 6 foot, 6 inches tall. All he wanted was one cable down the front. We argued over the type of yarn though. He wanted cotton, told him no. We compromised on the color. Anyway, he tried it on and it fit so well. I was proud, however, I noticed that the back rode just a tad. The obsessive part of me wanted to take it and re-d0 it. I just had to let it go...but that was very difficult.

I promised information of Bohus kits. On my blog I posted the latest kit, the Wild Apple. Just ordered it this morning. The kits are running about $150. They have gone up from a few years ago. Anyway, here are a few links to the history and how to order the kits:

Susanna's site is a must. She has all the ordering information on her site as well.
Wendy has a great post from a while back about the history and also has pictures of Solveig and the dyeing process.
